About our Founder
madam Odette KANTESI, driven by her personal experiences with family conflicts, founded JOIN OTHERS RWANDA with a vision to transform lives and promote family harmony. Her journey from caring for her sick daughter to establishing an organization that supports women and children in crisis reflects her unwavering commitment to social justice and community development.
Since October 2016, after resigning from her permanent job due to her 17-month-old daughter's illness, madam Odette KANTESI dedicated herself to her daughter's care around the clock. During this time, she started to put on paper her long-held project aimed at preventing and combating family conflicts, an idea she had nurtured since the age of 10. Being a victim of family conflicts herself, she founded the non-governmental organization named JOIN OTHERS RWANDA (JOR), which means "join others to avoid isolation." This organization opened its doors on March 7, 2020, just a week before the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. Its physical address is located in the Nyarugenge District, Muhima Sector, Ubumwe Cell, Isangano Village.
